Hello
I'm updating my lists of extra and wanted cards and reordering all. And I found my Death Note cards... the two editions, and I think the cards are mixed... xD there are some difference between Death Note Trading Card (Black pack) and Death Note Special Edition (gold pack)? Because I think the back is the same in both editions >_<

I'm not sure (because I only have the special edition), but there are 2 numbers on the back of the cards, one black in a whith circle, and an other. If you have that it's the special edition. You have 2 numbers because one was for the normal set, and the second for the special edition (that contains cards of both normal series). But I'm not so sure, so if somebody who has the 2 series can confirm, it will be great

I think that I found the difference. I have the two sets, and the normal cards all have two numbers. But in ACO the info about the sets said:
About Special Edition:
"The regular and special cards are the same as the ones in the TC Volume 1 & 2, the Parallel cards have the same images as the regular cards, so the only new image in this set is the secret rare card."
About Normal Set:
"Parallel rare cards have the same image as Special rare cards."

The ACO is not correct for that. Because we found some differences between the parallel cards too (the foil effect is not the same) in a previous topic in this forum (but I didn't find it anymore...). Somebody scaned the different version of one parallel card. And for the back, they are definitely not the same. You have 2 numbers on the special edition
Perhaps we have to contact Anisa to change the info in ACO

The parallels from Vol1 are the same images that the specials (Vol1) and are listed 1 to 9 (not as the special edition that have a "P" to indicate that is a pararell card). The special card have a purpurin effect and the parallel have "holographic square" (I don't know how to explain it in english I hope you can understand ) that is the same effect that have the parallel cards from Special Edition.
If not, I have some "holographic" card listed 1 to 9 that I don't know from what collection are -_-
Is my theory because I know that I bought the two sets and is impossible that I haven't any parallels of Vol1!! Do you have parallels from the Special Edition? the numbers 1 to 9 have the P??
And thank you for helping!!

I was thinking that the two numbers are for the following:
The number in a white bubble is the card number (or black in the special cards), and the other number is the page of the Death Note (in the manga) :-]

The specials from the Special edidion are numbered 01-09 and 037-045, and are "shiny sequined". The parallel numbered P01-P27 are "holographic square".

If you want to do the gallery, It would be better if you put it in the gallery folder: Here
When it's done, I'll remove this post, because it is not really in the good place

Oh, no! I looked into this, and I have translated it incorrectly. I have found some archived pages from the original site and post the translation here. But of course, the official description may be different from the real cards. I think there used to be a card list on the official site but it did not archive well.
54 Regular cards https://web.archive.org/web/20080114200356/http://www.konami.jp:80/th/trading/deathnote/sp/normal.html Description: These cards are the same cards as the Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 Normal/Regular cards. [This is what the official site says, but there may be small differences?)
Description: 27 selected regular cards are given a rare card effect. The back has a different design from the original normal card. These cards are only in the Special Edition.
18 Special Rare cards https://web.archive.org/web/20080114200407/http://www.konami.jp:80/th/trading/deathnote/sp/special.html These 18 cards have the same image as the Special Rare Cards in Trading Card Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, BUT, as you all have pointed out, the type of the card (format? style?) is different.
1 Secret Rare card https://web.archive.org/web/20071210104028/http://www.konami.jp:80/th/trading/deathnote/sp/secret.html (has scan) Only in the special edition.
