HELP!!!! Possible fake Slayers Royal

I wasn't sure if this is where to post this, but I need the forum's help. I recently bought boxes of cards from a seller on ebay, and as I don't have any cards from this set for comparison but I feel like they are fake.

It is the Slayers Royal set. All of the cards are incredibly thin and flexible and the inserts are very very thin pieces of paper. The images on the cards are pixilated and sometimes a lil blurry. And according to the packs, there are 5 specials and 4 profile cards?? I thought it was 9 sps. I got a few of the 6-9 cards and not only are they not foils but very pixilated. Can anyone who collects these cards let me know if this is actually a very low quality set and if this is actually how the cards are supposed to be?? Thanks so much!

By the details you say, probably they are fake. It happened to me once, when I bought a binder and a complete collection of X set. The cards had wrong numbers, the SPs had not shiny effects... everything was fake. I claimed through paypal and I got my money back. It was several years ago.

This is a link to the other boxes of this set that the seller has up. To be honest, the boxes and packs look pretty legitimate.. That's what's making this so difficult to figure out.

I compared some of the cards to the scans, but since the scans aren't very detailed, it's hard to tell. The puzzle pieces that I opened were actually quite clear, but it was the rest of the cards and the quality of the card stock that concerned me. Even with a set this old, it's not what you would expect from a broccoli hybrid set.

I had that same issue with that ebay seller, as I also bought that X binder/set. It was easier to dispute because there were so many of us and we had the real ones to show picture comparisons of. So far, the seller has not responded to my message. Last time I bought a fake item from ebay (a dvd box set where they posted pictures of the real one but sent me a fake one) the seller clearly was aware that it was fake and offered to give me back only the amount paid, not both of the shipping costs and ebay wouldn't really do anything about it. They don't seem to care much anymore about fake items as she just relisted it when she got it back.

I've attached an image of one of the cards (which I think should be an SP as it's one of the first 9 cards), as it was the most obvious one I saw with the pixilation issue. This is not an issue with my camera, which you can clearly tell considering how clear the words are.

I can not see the image attached, but looking at the images of the eBay auction, the boxes and packs seem authentic.

Maybe the are not fake, but poor quality. You can ask Ran, the author of the Slayers Royal gallery.

Yea I may have over-reacted a little, but as I was getting lots of new cards at the time they just didn't seem up to par.. Also, I didn't want to open all of the packs and then have issues getting a refund from the seller if they really were fake so I figured I'd ask around first. Thanks again!

It's not surprising, Yukiko, that you thought they are fake: they look really different from any other set I have, and when I got them I was quite disappointed, because there is nothing on the box and packs that made me think it's a "pc game" set (play station I belive, 1997)   
When I looked for info on "Slayes Royal" I found out that it's a game, only a game, not also a game >__>
But however I like the character design, so I've completed the set...  

So I wasn't the only one who was surprised by the picture quality... I knew Slayers Royal wasn't an actual anime season, but I figured maybe it was a little-known ova or something. Instead of wasting a set on this game they should have made a Slayers Revolution or Evolution-R set! that would have been awesome.

I'm only missing one special from the set and it was the one I wanted the most lol. It's SP1, the group shot that's the same as the puzzle :/ oh well, I'll find it somewhere
