About the anime (it's a manga too), it's uhm... strange! XD
The genre is adventure/fantasy/historical, but I'm not good with telling plot, but if you like to read it, here there is a short introduction:

The anime is just 13 episodes, but the manga is still ongoing, so there will be probably a second season.

So... as I liked it, I started to read the manga ! I kinda don't understand everything though XDDD, but I hope it'll become more clear in the futur hehe (the story is not so simple xD;;;; he). If some of you are interested to read it too, it's on Onemanga in english !

Yes, you are right, the story is not very simple, but I really like it, and the drawings are fantastic, in my opinion! (and I love Tokidoki! )
